Kids Ministry at Liberty

At Liberty, our kids (infant through 6th grade) experience safe, age-appropriate environments where they learn about Jesus in a creative and relevant way.

We would love to see you and your family visit us. To plan a visit, click here.

Children Ministries

Nursery: Our nursery is available during all service times for any child, from newborn to 3 year old. Our well-trained volunteers (who have all been background checked) are equipped to look after your children for all of their infant needs (feeding, changing, naps, fun, etc.).

Sunday School & Children's Church (aka Charge): On Sunday's, we have two opportunities for your children (4yrs old - 5th grade) to learn about God and enjoy some fun with other kids their age. At 9am, we have a Bible study class geared to their age that introduces biblical truth that they will understand and enjoy learning in a small setting. At 10:15am, we dismiss all children for a "service" that includes a small snack, games, and a message prepared specifically for them. We call this ministry, 'Charge'; after 1 Timothy 1:5.

Awana (Wednesday): For the past 25 years, we have offered a ministry for children (3yrs old - 5th grade) that "gives children the opportunity to know, love and serve Jesus, no matter their background", called Awana. This ministry takes place on Wednesday's from 6:30pm - 8:00pm (registration opens at 6:15pm) and runs in accordance with the OCPS holiday/break schedule (themed children activities during the summer). If you'd like to learn more about this ministry, click the button below.

Our first Awana night this year will be on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:00pm for registration.

Your first visit: Sunday

Here's what to expect with your kids when visiting Liberty for the first time on a Sunday:

First, find a greeter (they'll have name badges on) or visit our Next Steps table in our gym. There, one of our volunteers will introduce you to our Children's Director, Chelsea Diaz, and/or lead your child to their age-appropriate room (if she is not available).

Upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)
  • Child's name
  • Child's birthdate
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Your first visit: Wednesday

Here's what to expect with your kids when visiting Liberty for the first time on a Wednesday:

Wednesday's are a little more relaxed. Our children ministries (Awana) don't start until 6:30pm. If you come early, ask anyone to lead you to Pastor Vern or Pastor Damian (and we mean it...ANYONE lol). If you come at 6:30pm, there will be a sign-in table in our foyer and one of our volunteers will be able to assist you.

Like on Sunday's, upon checking in for the first time, we will ask for the following personal information (NOTE: We value your privacy and will not share this information with anyone):

  • Parent/guardian name(s)
  • Child's name
  • Child's birthdate
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your children

Meet our Kids Director

Chelsea Diaz joined the Liberty staff in 2016 as our secretary. In addition to being our secretary, she now leads all of our children ministries. She is a mom through and through and loves leading others so they may teach young children about our beautiful Savior in a fun, safe, and loving environment.
